Keith's Paintless Dent Repair:
HAIL DAMAGE: 3 Major Reasons Why You Should File an Insurance Claim

If it's the first time your vehicle got caught in a hail storm, you may be wondering whether to file a claim or not. And here are 3 great reasons why you should file it:
1) HAIL CLAIMS DO NOT SPIKE UP INSURANCE RATES.
Some folks think that filing a claim automatically raises their insurance premium. Not so when it comes to hail! Under 'comprehensive coverage', hail damage is covered, simply because it is a natural phenomenon, classified as an 'act of nature', or 'act of God'. It has nothing to do with a driver's ability to avoid or cause accidents. So, as long as your policy has 'comprehensive coverage', all you owe upon hail repair is your deductible.

2) FILING A HAIL CLAIM IS THE SAFEST WAY TO ASSURE YOUR VEHICLE WILL BE COMPLETELY AND PROPERLY REPAIRED.
With a preliminary insurance estimate in your hands, you have taken the first step in the right direction. With that estimate, you can choose which repair facility will fix the hail damage. It is your choice. Just make sure they are a reputable business. If the preliminary insurance estimate has missed any damage (which is more common than people may imagine), the repair facility of your choice will ask their PDR (paintless dent removal technician) to review the damage under special PDR lights, and then send your insurance company a 'supplement request' to cover the additional damage missed on the initial estimate. Once the insurance company sends an adjustor to re-inspect the vehicle, they will issue another check for that damage.

3) HAIL DAMAGE CLAIMS AND REPAIRS GUARANTEE CONTINUED COVERAGE ON YOUR NEXT HAIL STORM.
Insurance Companies are not in the business of allowing their customers to just 'pocket' the money they pay out to cover a claim. If anyone misleads you out there, then they are not being honest! The money you receive to cover an insurance claim is paid out with the sole purpose of covering the cost of repairs your vehicle needs. It is not free money! If you do not use it to fix your vehicle completely, you will lose coverage (or part of it, if you have not had all the damage fixed) when the next hail storm hits. Your insurance company will need proof that repairs have been made. And, if they haven't, your vehicle will be depreciated when the time comes to sell it, or trade it in.

These are only 3 reasons why an insurance claim is the best route to follow when your vehicle gets hit by hail. Good luck, and know that Keith's Dent Repair is here for you!
